November 27th
RNA Showgrounds

SUPANOVA COSPLAY FESTIVAL IS COMING!

If you love Cosplay on an international level then you're in for an even bigger treat in 2010, as this year's Madman Cosplay National Championships are being held in Brisbane as a part of the first annual Supanova Cosplay Festival!

The date to lock away is November 27th and tickets for the event will go on sale October 3rd. What's even more exciting is, we're going back to our biggest venue and the home of Supanova Cosplay, the RNA Showgrounds, for this festival celebrating the art-form we love so much!

Madman Nationals

The main event is the Madman National Cosplay Championships but there will also be a full Cosplay competition on the day, all of which will be watched over by the your favourite host with the most, the Master of Ceremonies (and Puppets) himself, Mr John Robertson!

As well as all the Cosplay craziness you can handle, there will be many staples of Cosplay events, including: screenings, retail vendors, Cosplay chess, masterclasses and maybe even a special guest! Keep an eye on the Supanova website for bios of the finalists from the five states, and even some info on the wildcard entries who might be making their way to Brisbane to compete for the ultimate prize...

The Supanova Cosplay Festival is going to be a huge event which will knock your stripy socks off and blow back your spiky blue hair with its unbridled awesomeness!

2010 - THE YEAR IT GOT SUPA!

2010 has been an absolutely huge year for Supanova with our four major events going from strength to strength and the addition of a fifth event - the Supanova Cosplay Festival in November. Our first tour for the year took us to Brisbane and Melbourne and gave us some truly amazing guests including the Dynamic Duo of Marv Wolfman and George Perez, as well as Supa-Hunks James Marsters, Gareth David Lloyd and Karl Urban. Our second tour of Sydney and Perth was graced by a bevy of beauties including Charisma Carpenter, Summer Glau, Dichen Lachman and of course the amazing Eliza Dushku. As well as the lovely ladies, we had comics superstars Joe Kubert, Stuart and Kathryn Immonen and local luminaries Colin Wilson. Not to mention the rest of the huge Supa-Star lineup which ended up featuring 32 guests!

The heat in Brisbane didn't diminish our numbers through the door, bringing in 19,700 fans. Melbourne's crowds swelled to an impressive 10,200. Sydney stepped it up another notch though with 16,400 fans joining in the fun in our largest venue. Perth however continues to be our fastest growing event by far, drawing an unprecedented 12,200 people in only its third year of operation! That means that over the course of 2010 we had 58,500 wonderful people attend our Expos! No small increase from last years impressive 44,800!

We look forward to seeing all of you back again in 2011, and we offer our heartfelt thanks to the sponsors, the Supa-Stars, exhibitors, staff, family, volunteers, and of course you, the fans, for all of your incredible support!
